Avoid Insurance Comparison Sites if You Want the Best Deal

People looking for cheap van insurance should not necessarily focus solely on price, if the comments of one sector expert are anything to go by.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association said the rise of comparison websites had led to greater emphasis being placed on purchasing the least expensive cover available.

However, it stated this should not be the only factor customers take into account when choosing protection.

The group claimed drivers needed to think about what benefits they expect their policy to come with.

Commenting on price comparison aggregators, corporate affairs executive Graeme Trudgill said: “Get an indication from the site but go to your insurance broker because they will be available to advise you on what is best for you and refine what you need.”

Regardless of this suggestion, drivers may still find they can secure cheap van insurance with all the benefits they require by searching online and taking the time to research policies thoroughly.

This follows news that motorists buying car insurance have been urged to use price comparison sites with caution.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association suggested such online aggregators should not be used as a driver’s sole source of information.

It explained the sites tend to focus purely on the cost of a policy, without taking into account the various benefits offered with different deals.
