Numerous people end up at a time in their life where future is unclear. Perhaps you’re a student who’s recently graduated, or maybe in your 60s and just retired from work. Possibly you’ve been been made redundant and are discouraged at having no job, but every bit as disheartened by the variety of work opportunities available. In these times, we frequently seek an alternative course of action. An organization known as DNA (dna-uk.org) are proffering a new option – to spend your mission gap year in a Christian church.
DNA are providing an almost year long experience of total immersion into Christian Discipleship, running from October to August. This is seen as a practical experience, requiring the participant to live in a Christian environment – either within your own church if you already attend one, or a designated church if you’re not currently a fellow member of a church. Your typical day will require helping out with the day to day projects of the church, and to be coached by its members in bible studies. The course ensures faith in action, so those who join can anticipate a rather practical experience of Christian faith, and not merely the study of it.
More advantages of the placements include:-
- your growth in skills, understand and character
- dependence on the person and force of the Holy Spirit in and through you
- relational, non-religious Christianity; it’s fun!
There are 3 sorts of course open : Track 1 is the predominant access point to DNA – it is the most complete DNA expereince. The vast majority of individuals decide that this is the best pick for them. Track 2 is more acceptable to you if taking a full gap year is not practically possible. This could be for reasons such as your workplace or family commitments. Track 2 consequently provides some tractability. Track 3 offers individuals the chance of joining us for as many individual training sessions or days as they want.
