RESTAURANT

A restaurant is the most common place where people meet up to talk, dine and unwind. Different occasions are usually done in fine dining restaurants, of which include, memorable parties, wedding receptions and even business conferences too. We find ourselves looking for a nice and cozy restaurant every time we feel romantic and want to spend quality time with our loved ones. If we fancy a particular kind of cooking, we surely know where to go and treat ourselves to a fine Italian, unique Oriental or any restaurant that serves the cuisine we crave for.

I myself have a lot of fond memories in a local Chinese restaurant back in our hometown. They serve the best beef noodles and congee when I was little. Well, that’s what I know then until I learned some other places as I grew up. Nevertheless, on my young mind and treasured memories of the past, that tiny Chinese restaurant was part of my childhood. I remember, every Sunday after attending mass, our grandfather treats us for a big lunch in that Chinese restaurant. They always have a reserved table for our family, located at the center. I guess that’s the biggest table available to accommodate almost 10 persons. Our family luncheons every Sunday when I was little, then transpired into that tiny and cozy Chinese restaurant. Even my parent’s wedding anniversaries were celebrated many times there too.

We must not take for granted the coffee shops and the restaurants we frequent to because it might be the place where the most memorable event of our lives happen.

A Do It Yourself Guide To Credit Repair

The process of Credit Repair is laborious and is not easy, but you need to do it for your sound financial health. A bad credit score or a report can adversely affect your ability to seek financial products such as loans, credit cards and the like. You miss a payment here, pile up some debts elsewhere, and suddenly find things getting out of control.

A bad credit score stops you from obtaining further loans, financial help or credit cards, or else you get these by paying exorbitant interest rates. Everyone needs credit at some time or the other, and the faster you arrange for credit repairs, the better for you.

The following steps will guide you to repair your credit yourself:

*Get Credit Reports – Contact the three major credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – and obtain your credit reports from them. All three reports may not be the same, but will indicate errors of omissions, misreporting, misinformation, or misinterpretation. Peruse the reports carefully and note all the errors you find. There may be credits you have cleared but have not yet appeared in the reports. There may be factual errors, or accounts you have not opened.

*Contact the Credit Bureaus – For fraudulent accounts that do not belong to you, contact the credit bureaus and lodge a complaint. These accounts need to be removed from your credit report.

*Contact Creditors – Your report may have negative comments from your creditors, or may still be showing debts you have already cleared. Contact your creditors to have this sorted out. Never give up communicating with your creditor. Sometimes a phone call is enough to reverse an anomaly. The negative comments may be true and if at present your account is in a good state, talking to your creditor can help to remove this. Fewer the negative comments on your report, the better it is for you.

If the creditor is being extra difficult about a negative comment, or a debt, that should not be there, and you can back up your case with documents, you may have to file a dispute.

*Reduce Your Debts – Check the total debts you have. Too much debt can affect your credit rating. Creditors will be leery of granting you credit lines or extra loans. Too much debt does not speak well of your financial health, and you may have to pay higher rates of interest. Work out ways to reduce your debts, by paying off the debts with higher interest rates first.

Credit repairs will take time and effort, but you need to start immediately.

What You Can Gain from a Reward Credit Card

If you take the time to notice it, you’d see that there are a lot of advertisements going on about reward credit cards. If you’ve never owned a credit card and you’re thinking about applying for one, the first thing you should know about is what type of credit card is the optimal choice for you.

There are just two major types of credit cards that you should concern yourself with – reward types and of course, non-reward types. The latter, instead of offering their clients reward points, allow them to enjoy paying low interest charges for the purchases they make with the use of their credit cards.

The primary focus of this article, however, shall be the reward credit card.

The Type of Person Best Suited for a Reward Credit Card

If you’re not aware of it, let me tell you right now that reward credit cards have higher interest charges than the non-reward credit cards. But if you think about it, that’s a logical move in the credit card company’s part because in exchange, they’re offering you a whole range of free products to choose from, items that you could win just by using your credit card.

If you find yourself uncomfortable with the relatively higher interest charges of reward credit cards then naturally, it may not be in your best interests – pardon the pun – to apply for one.

There is a trick however when it comes to reward credit cards. If you pay for your purchases on time or in the least amount of time possible then of course, you won’t be bothered as much – or not at all, even – by the interest charges.

The Types of Rewards That You May Win

Day by day, credit card companies are thinking up of new and better items to offer their faithful clients to encourage extensive use of their credit cards. From a brand new flat screen TV to an all-expense-paid-Europe-tour to free opera tickets, it’s a rare chance that a credit card owner would find nothing to their liking when it’s time to use their reward points.

To sum it up, if you’re addicted to gaining free items with the least amount of effort and you’re not necessarily bothered by the possibility of being charged with a high interest rate just in case you don’t pay on time, by all means, please apply for a reward credit card as soon as possible. It just may be that you and a reward credit card is a match made in heaven.

5 Things to Know Before You Apply for a Business Credit Card

Many credit card companies have begun offering business credit cards to their customers. On the surface, they may seem similar to personal credit cards. However, upon further analysis, you may notice quite some benefits to using business credit cards in certain circumstances.

Flexible credit limits

For one thing, business credit cards offer flexible credit limits to business users. This attribute helps business owners to manage their cash flow especially when they utilize their cards for operations expenses. The extra credit provided to business owners will only need to be repaid at the end of the billing cycle, allowing business owners more time for cash consolidation and ultimately business sustainability.

Business relevant rewards

As business credit cards target business users, the corresponding reward programs work the same way too. This means that rewards come in the form of frequent flyer airline miles, cash back incentives or free hotel accommodation, which are all very relevant to business users. Of course, other benefits such as the 0% APR introductory period, no annual fees, lower APR rates and purchase discounts also apply to these cards.

Expense reports

Perhaps one of the attributes that most differentiates business credit cards from the norm are the expense reports generated. With these reports, business owners will have a clear record of their expenses, in addition to helping them separate personal and business expenditure. Moreover, with spending records of business credit cards provided to employers, companies are able to use these records to track employee spending too. Additionally, certain corporations are even entitled to group rate discounts on their business credit cards, which can be passed down to employees as an employment benefit.

Overspending and Building your Credit Profile

It is easy for anyone, even diligent business owners to overspend on their credit cards. This may be detrimental to the business as it would result in a mountain of debt and ultimately the folding of the business. With this, business credit card users should ensure that outstanding payments are made promptly in order to build a good credit record. In fact, this will work to help build a favorable credit profile for the company, thus opening the doors for larger credit limits in the future.

Convenience for business travel

Business credit cards are great for business travel especially in a foreign company, as users will no longer need to bring huge wads of cash to pay for hotel bills or other traveling expenses. This also works especially well for dining or entertainment activities as it provides a hassle-free way for business owners to pay for such expenses.

Bad Credit Visa Cards – Ways to Get a Credit Card with Poor Credit

Getting approved for a Visa credit card with bad credit is tricky. On
one hand, there are lenders eager to help you rebuild credit or
establish credit. On the other hand, some lenders only approve applicants with
a solid credit history. If you have bad credit, a bad credit Visa card
is useful. Here are a few tips to help you get approved.

Benefit of Having a Credit Card

Credit cards serve a convenient purpose. If you are reserving airline
tickets, renting a car, etc, having access to a credit card makes the
transaction smoother. Furthermore, credit cards are great to have during
a crisis. Ironically, emergencies tend to occur when we are financially
strapped. When used responsibly, credit cards can provide an immediate
solution to money woes.

Unfortunately, having no credit history may place you in the same class
as a person with bad credit. In both instances, lenders are unconvinced
of your credit worthiness. An applicant with no history could possibly
misuse credit, whereas a person with bad credit has a history of using
credit unwisely.

Nonetheless, there are ways to prove credit worthiness. If you have no
credit history, acquiring a credit card is the first step to
establishing credit. Moreover, if you have bad credit, obtaining a bad credit
Visa card is an ideal way to re-establish credit and boost credit score.

How to Get Approved for a Bad Credit Visa Card?

If you are having a difficult time getting approved for a Visa credit
card, consider applying for credit at a retail store. These credit
accounts are easier to obtain. Further, once you have been making regular
payments, it may become easier to get qualified for a major credit card.

Another option involves contacting your bank or credit union and
inquiring about bad credit Visa cards. Being a current customer may put you
at an advantage. If all else fails, attempt to get approved for a
secured credit card. This generally involves opening a savings account. In
this instance, the savings account serves as collateral.

If you have no credit history, it may help to ask a family member to be
a co-signer. Also, being added to another person’s credit account is a
good way to establish credit. Fortunately, individuals with no credit
history can easily get approved for a bad credit Visa card.

Affinity Credit Cards – Using a Credit Card to Help Others

Using your heart and your mind in the choice of an affinity credit card will lead to a strong partnership that benefits everyone.

A strong bond is created when individuals and non-profit organizations partner together to reach a common goal. Individuals get the opportunity to be a part of something larger than themselves, and non-profits receive the donated time and money needed to make the operation work. Yet, at times it can be difficult for individuals to find extra money in the budget to donate to a worthy cause. So, when your budget stretches you to the limit and still the heartstrings pull, consider using an affinity credit card.

An affinity credit card expands the partnership of individual and non-profit by adding a third party – a financial lender. With each credit card purchase, the non-profit receives a small donation. The consumer still participates in the work of the organization, but at no additional cost. A weekly run to the grocery store using an affinity card now turns into a charitable donation benefiting any number of organizations!

One such organization benefiting from affinity credit cards is The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Steve Putnam, Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Relations says their affinity card program offered through MBNA started over 10 years ago, has 35,000 open accounts, and “has consistently contributed well into the six figures each year.” According to Putnam, the donations are used to support every program including efforts to strengthen animal cruelty laws, resolve conflict with wildlife, protect wildlife habitat, offer humane education programs in schools, spay and neuter dogs and cats, promote shelter adoptions, and provide disaster relief for animals. The HSUS depend on programs like the affinity card to meet these goals.

The variety of affinity cards offered is as broad as the variety of people. Anyone can find an affinity card that suits their passion. Do you desire to support your child’s education? Check out the Target affinity card that donates to a local school of your choice. Want to help less fortunate and homeless people? With the Visa Elvis Presley card offered through MBNA, a portion of every purchase is donated to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. Alumni organizations, the American Cancer Society, and children’s causes are just a few more of the many to choose from. You can conveniently compare affinity card offers by using the “Card Reports” section of our website.

Although the choice to use a particular affinity credit card is impacted greatly by passion for a specific cause, as with all financial matters it is also important to consider the facts.

  • Some affinity cards come with a high APR or annual fees, so make sure you know exactly what you are getting into. If you don’t plan to pay the credit card off each month, you may end up paying more in interest than the organization receives. In this case it might be more beneficial and less costly to give a small donation directly to the organization. One consumer, Chris, a member of CreditBoards, was first attracted to the Smithsonian Institution WorldPoints Platinum Plus card offered through MBNA because it offered a low APR that was fixed. The contribution to the Smithsonian Institution was an added benefit.
  • Find out exactly how much of each purchase, cash advance, or balance transfer is being donated. Dan, another member of CreditBoards, used a card that benefited his Alumni association, but the percentage of each purchase was only %. By switching to a card that offered a 1% cash rebate he was actually able to contribute more.
  • Understand what it takes to make a donation. Some organizations only receive donations on actual purchases and not cash advances or balance transfers.
  • Personal perks may be limited with affinity cards. You cannot deduct the contribution on your tax return. In addition, some don’t offer benefits such as airline miles and cash rewards.
  • Finally, guard your spending habits. Chris says, “Since you identify yourself with the card, it tends to be the primary card in one’s wallet…and unless you are a person who watches spending carefully, it’s real easy to charge high amounts on the card and get trapped in a financial quicksand.”
  • The bottom line is to always read the fine print to know exactly what you are getting into. The desire to partner with an organization for a deserving cause combined with a well-thought out decision based on facts leads to a lasting partnership benefiting all parties.
