Stress and Osteoporosis Help For You

What is osteoporosis?

It literally means porous bones and develops when the process of bone remodeling becomes unbalanced. Old, worn out bone is naturally reabsorbed by the body and new bone should be produced to replace it. However, if not enough new bone is produced then your bones start to become thin and brittle.

Amazingly enough it is a largely preventable disease

Some UK statistics are quite frightening -

  • at least 3 million people suffer from it
  • one in two women
  • and one in five men are likely to suffer a fracture after the age of 50
  • it affects younger people too

Here are some helpful tips to help stop you becoming one of the statistics

  • Take regular exercise which stimulates the formation of new bone
  • High impact is best
  • Try
  • aerobics
  • gymnastics
  • netball
  • dancing
  • racquet sports
  • jogging
  • skipping
  • Eat calcium rich foods
  • These include
  • dairy products
  • green, leafy vegetables
  • salmon/pilchards (tinned and with bones)
  • eggs
  • nuts, seeds and pulses
  • white and brown bread made from fortified flour
  • Get enough vitamin D
  • Summer (15mins) and winter (30mins) sun will help your vitamin D levels
  • Good foods include: oily fish, eggs, butter, fortified milk, and fortified margarine and spreads.
  • Eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day
  • these foods contain important bone micronutrients
  • Avoid canned and fizzy drinks which contain phosphoric acid
  • they may cause a loss of calcium from your bones
  • Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol
  • Avoid aluminium based antacids
  • These impair the absorption of phosphates and after 10yrs regular use, double the likelihood of hip fracture
  • Cut back on salty foods/salt intake
  • table salt increases the loss of calcium through your kidneys

Stress can be a factor in increasing our chances of suffering from osteoporosis in the future. I have taken this information from my website on stress. I deal with health issues and how they relate to stress and would like you to pull up a chair, relax and learn more about stress and how you can improve your life and health.

A sex dildo is the traditional martial toy put to use by both blokes and girls. Dildos have truly made it big ever since blue videos became popular in the 70s. While marital aid come in lots of materials, most often the dildos are penis shaped. Some marital aids are specially moulded for going in the anus. Lads who like anal sex with a marital aid repeatedly choose dongs that play with the prostate because of the tremendous orgasms prostate play with gives them. There are lots of sex toys out there for guys, and dildos are the very best.

The most common dong uses are vaginal or bum insertation. Depending on the brand of sex dong, some may be used for oral penetration or as mouth gags. Double ended dildos might well be used between two sexual partners at once. These dong might well be used for simultaneous anal and bottom penetration, and when played with in this fashion adult play may be a little more exciting. Turning Piles into Files

Are you searching for an organized office? Then, the best thing you can do for yourself is schedule the time to clear the “To File” box and all those piles that have accumulated on your desktop, counters, chairs and floor. If you want organization, you will need to get rid of the piles and break the habit of piling. The secret is developing a filing system that works for you.

Schedule some serious time in your dayplanner, roll up your sleeves, and get to work. This is a good time to get those files in order, purge the unnecessary and archive those that you absolutely must keep, but rarely use. Current, active files are for those items that you need to run your home or business for the fiscal year. These files are accessed frequently and need to be in an order that makes sense to you. The archival files include those items that you need or want to keep but are not accessed frequently. These may include past year’s tax forms and documentation, old love letters and personal correspondence that you cannot part with, children’s art projects or research for your book.

As you progress through your organizing project, be on the lookout for excess papers that are cluttering your files. Toss or archive the old ones to make room for the current influx. Box, label and store the archives in the attic, basement, garage or off-site. Do not get caught in the trap of keeping papers “just in case.” Consult your attorney or accountant to find out what you personally need to keep and what you can safely toss.

Here are some simple filing rules that may make it easier to determine where to put your papers:

1. Separate personal and business files. If you have a home-based business or bring work home from an outside office, be very careful to keep everything separate. Set up specific zones or boundaries for each type of paperwork that enters your office. Color coding separate files makes it easy to visually identify where a particular file belongs.

2. Establish a labeling system that works for you. There is no law that says it has to be alphabetical. You can use broad categories and subcategories, color-coded files, numerical files, 3-ring binders, cubbyholes or desktop files. Whatever works best for you is the right thing to do. Just remember to label, label, label.

3. When you first set up a filing system, use post-it notes for labels until you are comfortable with the order you have placed things. It is much easier to tear off a sticky note than retype labels. First set up the system, live with it for a while, and then type the labels. Typed labels are neater and easier to read and worth the investment of time. Use a label maker or learn how to use labeling software installed on most computers.

4. Toss those prefabricated labels and concentrate on your own words. Label files according to how you think. You do not need to use nouns. Verbs and even full sentences may work better. My favorite filing job was with my mother who wanted to keep some papers that were not specific to anything. Of course, I posed the big question, “Why?” Her response was that they were things she liked. We set up a file labeled “Things I like” and she is happy. She now has a place to put those trivial papers without cluttering her desktop.

Why get organized? Paper has become the biggest source of clutter – junk mail, emails, correspondence, and website surfing. Most of us prefer to read information on paper rather than the computer screen, so we print and print and print some more. With the information highway spewing forth tons of data, the printers keep spewing forth tons of printed material even though statistics show that we use only 20% of the papers we keep.

It is time to wage war on the paper influx by learning to make wise choices. Take a good look at everything piling up on your desk or countertops. Is the information still relevant? Is the information available somewhere else? Toss papers that can be replicated or unimportant. Clutter is simply the by-product of indecision. Make the decision to purge!

Email is a major form of paper clutter as more households obtain computers. Printed emails pile high around the computer with the good intentions of readingthem someday. Decide what action to take on the document while it is still in the computer inbox – act on it or delete it. Be careful not to overload the inbox. This, too, can become a source of clutter.

When you take time to establish an effective way to handle incoming papers, you can win the battle of the piles.

What If Astrology Really Worked

There is a large population which looks at todays forecast the first thing in the morning newspaper. Every one of them desires to find out about their day in the columns. Do the predictions come true? Let me talk about this. Most of the forecast columns have four to five predictions. Practically no body writes down all of them and compares the forecast with actual happening at the end of the day. What we do is to remember something of the forecast and if anything comes true, we are delighted. We forget that the other three to four forecasts did not come true.

That is human nature. We want to believe something and find ways to prove that right. This is what we do with forecasts. None of us wants to critically analyze them because we are subconsciously worried that they can prove to be largely false. We also like to hear about what good may happen. We are all tired with worries and anxieties that we want some assurance that things are not that bad and they will improve. Astrologers use that weakness very intelligently.

What if astrology really worked? What if every astrologer made absolutely correct predictions? Say my prediction for today is that I may meet today with an accident. I will believe that and not move out of the home at all. If my prediction says that i may get a windfall soon, I will stop all my work and begin buying Lottery tickets or waiting for a rich relative to die. But despite all the reading of the predictions, none of us acts like this. That proves that we do read the columns to feel good and give no value to them as far as real life is concerned. Some people may be exceptions to this, but this is true for a very large majority. The biggest fun of life is in unexpected happening. That continues.

How A Golf Exercise DVD Can Save You Time And Improve Your Game

Using a golf exercise dvd is a great alternative to going to a gym or just relying on yourself for motivation and consistency. Golfers are now finally realizing that exercise dvds aren’t just for the ladies anymore.

The dvd craze has caught on with golfers of all ages and abilities. Golf instruction dvds have been very popular, but now golf exercise dvds are coming into their own.

What you should look for in a golf exercise dvd is several things. Simple and easy demonstrations of every golf exercise. This is separate from the workout component of the golf exercise dvd. You want a menu that is user-friendly and easy to move around to the different sections of the golf exercise dvd.

The most important component is the golf exercise workout itself. What I’m referring to is ‘plug-and-play’. You should be able to insert the golf exercise dvd and have the golf fitness trainer take you through the entire workout from start to finish. Just as if he were there with you.

My wife and I have seen hundreds of exercise dvds that do not take you through the entire routine. They are pieced together and leave you trying to figure out what to do with it.

Be wary of a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. This is not what you want. You want to be lead through a golf exercise routine that is suitable for your current level of fitness, age and abilities.

If your starting point is a little lower, then a golf fitness dvd that is more challenging will only promote you to fail. I’ve seen this time and time again.

On the other hand, if you are an experienced exerciser, you want a golf exercise dvd that is more challenging than a beginner (novice) one. One that will challenge your core stabilization, balance, coordination and muscular endurance.

This may sound like a lot to think about, but making the right choice will dictate the ultimate success of your program. So make sure to thoroughly read over all the information pertaining to that golf exercise dvd.

Kick Start Your Job

Do you want to kick start your job? Maybe you have to change directioms and start anew. You might look at things froma different view.

In most of America people a trained and pre programmed to act and work in common ways, known and predictable. This creates order. Everyone goes down the highway on the right side of the road. What if you went down on the left? Would you be wrong? Not if you were in England. I am from Kansas. Another world and and in another time. I don’t play by the rules for I don’t see them. I abide by our common laws and moral values but I am wired differently. I don’t follow your roads. To get out of your ruts, get of the road.

The best things in life are free is dead wrong. The best things in life are things that you get paid to collect. For many years I would advertise to pay for broken mowers. Many people saved my adds and would call me months after the adds expired. One day someone called me and asked if I would still pickup mowers,I said I had so many I didn’t need any more. They then asked how much would I charge to pick one up. Bingo, I realised that I should be charging not paying. Immediatly I reran the adds and announced that would pick them up for a fee. I actually got more mowers. I don’t know why but people even treated me better when I went to their homes. I guess they thought I wasn’t under paying them for the mowers or something like that. This was a turning point in my life. I realised that I could collect things I wanted and get paid for it. Like working and enjoying it. I decided that from now on I would make sure that I turn the table on all my problems. I would make the problem a solution. I would make any thing I like to do part of my work. I liked to grow trees and plants. So of course I raise them for profit and here is how it came about….

Of course you have heard that, “Money grows on trees”, or, “Buy land because they’re not making any more of it”. How many times? I first heard about it when I was 5 from my great uncle, Uncle Bill. Uncle Bill was wealthy, retired and living the good life in Sarasota Florida. I was impressed with his big house, boat, and all his toys that successful people collect. He was a forestry graduate of Penn State and had made a ton of money. As I grew up he would visit us once a year. I always listened to his stories and was convinced that he could never be wrong. He had made his fortune selling traffic signals (red lights). High tech for his day. I can remember him telling my father that if he was starting all over he would buy land in Maine and grow Christmas trees on it. Listening in and hearing this I thought it was secret market information that is only repeated to close friends and family. I thought I would never tell anyone for if I did, well, it would lose its value and everyone would be doing it. Sort of like the pig market cycle. One minute trees would be scarce and bingo, the next minute there would be surpluses and the market value would crash. As I grew up, some say I never have, I wanted to do just that. Grow trees and buy land, lots and lots of land, and of course plant lots and lots of trees. In 1973 I graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon Pa with a BS in Chemistry. It was at Juniata that I met my future wife. I proceded to go out and get a job with in Lahaska, Pa.. I really wanted to start growing trees. So I bought 160 acres of land in the mountains of Virginia in Allegehany County. The purchase price for this mountain land was $150 per acre. I was working in Bucks County Pa. and felt that if I worked day and night I could pay for this property in a few years. The older lady who sold me this property sold it to me for 1/2 down and the balance in one year with no interest. Making about $6.00 per hour and borrowing $12000 for the initial payment, I proceeded to go into debt. During this year I proceeded to start to pay down on the property. I did get married later in the year and my wife and I started our real estate purchases. Within 2 years we had paid off this property. We bought our first house and started saving money for a Bucks County Farm. We both had our day jobs and at night and on weekends we mowed lawns. After 5 years we had enough down money to buy a 38 acre farm in Doylestown Pa. Keeping our first house as a rental, we moved to our farm. This farm had a purchase price of $210,000, and a payment of $1493 a month. We named this property, Highland Hill Farm. It was at this point that we came up with the plan that we followed that helped us to fund the purchases of all our farms and properties. I called this plan,” My dollar a day plan”. We reasoned that each day we should work on projects that will in the future pay off with an income stream of $1 per day or save me $1 per day from my current costs. Each day would be considered sucessful if that goal was met. All costs and all projects and work was measured in that manner. If we could set up a low cost plan that could reap the benifit of $1 a day we would work on it. The goal of the dollar per day was not important, just the attempt. We would work on the idea until it would be completed or given up on. We reasoned that one could spend hundreds of dollars on each idea, because when it would work out, the pay back would be hundreds of dollars per year. After many days my income would be increasing and it would help fund the plan. Our morgage payment was greater than our combined take home pay. This meant we had to bust xxx. So we had to work every night mowing lawns and doing extra work. We started to plant Norway Spruce and White Pine Trees. We started with the smallest and the cheapest trees we could afford. We started with 2-4″ seedlings. Since we felt it would be years before these trees would be saleable we kept up our lawn route. As our children arrived they went with us on our lawn route and we back packed them as we mowed lawns. Within 2 years the first batch of trees were marketable! We sold 2-3′ pines and spruces for $8.00 each deleivered and planted. These trees sold like hot cakes! Thus a few pennies for seedlings could be converted to many dollars within a few years. This would add many dollars per day to our plan. We also rented out barn space. Within one month of ownership we had almost $1500 in rent per month from barn spaces. We purchased Scottish Highland cows.I like to eat and I loved having cows on the farm when I grew up so I figured get paid to raise what you like and eat the rest. These cows would save us from buying meat. We had a garden for vegetables and fruit trees in our pasture. When I cleaned up the dead branches I found a place to sell them for smoking meats. The garden saved on buying vegetables. Being asked to do lawn cleanups and remove items from customer properties, we began to do small hauling jobs. We found that a lot of good stuff is thrown out so we started collecting used lumber, plumbing supplies, and anything we thought we could reuse or salvage. Everything we did was directed towards being self sufficient, cost saving, and income production. (I know if I told you all the ways we saved you would not believe me so I will save the words.) We heated our house with a wood burning stove. The wood burner saved on fuel for winter heating. We would turn the burner on only for hot water for showers. Since our house was old and large, a lot of fuel would be saved in this manner. Within a few months we realized that this plan was working. We saw that in aquiring rental properties and placing them in service, we could buy properties with positive cash flows. A positive cash flow of $100 per month brought in about $3 per day. It does not sound like a lot but when you calculate in expected appreciation of the property and possible rent increases, this plan looked even better. We thus started to look for more properties. We found another farm in Bedminster Township. The cost was $195,000 for 8+ acres, 2 houses, 2 barns and machinery storage sheds. I estimated that there would be $3500 per month in rents that would support this price. After buying this property our first months rent was $3450 !!! With taxes and insurances, we made at least $1000 per month on this farm. We also planted trees and shrubs on this property and put in a few cows. In seeing that this method was working, I went to the public library. We got books on how to buy and manage real estate. I read everything I could. The book,”Nothing Down” by Robert Allen was an eye opener. It confirmed many of our stratagies. Almost every deal on real estate that we did was with nothing down or creative financing. Every property had to make a positive cash flow. We never bought a property to flip. We became a buy and hold persons. We did buy a few single family homes, but concentrated on farms and land. Gradually our gross income and net income allowed me to quit my day job. That took almost ten years. As we had more and more spendable income, we would invest it in more types and kinds of trees. During the early years, we wanted to plant trees that we could market through newspaper ads. Newspaper ads allowed me to have a store without hours. People would call in for information instead of visiting my location. This saves a lot of time. A phone answering machine acted as my secretary. We would take orders over the phone and deleiver and plant nursery stock directly to the homeowner. Our adds targeted customers who wanted screens and privacy fences. They tended to buy large numbers of small pines, spruces, and arborvitae schrubs and trees. One could deliever 20 2- 3′ white pines on a pickup truck and plant them in an evening. At $8 ea we would gross $160 Our tree cost was 20 cents ea. or about $2.00 per order. We all gained valuable lessons in planting trees in a wide range of conditions. Without a doubt I can conclusively say that I now have found that money does grow on trees. My uncle Bill was right. His secret market information was exactly as I had thought when I was 5 years old. Only after enjoying the trees and nurturing them over the years did I realise that it wasn’t for money that he wanted to raise trees, it was for satisfaction in the way of life and quality time that I have been blessed with in following my dream.

Which Therapy?

Therapy is a word that covers a very broad spectrum. Nowadays there is an ever increasing amount of services that can be offered to help an individual with a specific difficulty.
Depending on what your problem is, or what it is you want to achieve there will be a specialist in that field.

For mental health problems, depression etc, talking therapies are recommended. This can range from talking with a counsellor, for mild problems, to talking with a psychologist or psychiatrist for more long term deep rooted problems. For more phobic specific depressions or anxiety there is a therapy that is becoming more and more popular which is called CBT, cognitive behavioural therapy.

The idea of CBT is to help change your thinking, by challenging and changing your automatic negative thoughts. It is a very successful treatment.

For Seasonal Affective Disorder SAD, light therapy is recommended, this can be attained by using a special lamp with stronger bulbs, for example, domestic lighting usually emits 200 – 500 lux but a bright summers day can be 100,000 lux. Light therapy has proven to be very effective in the treatment of SAD which usually occurs during the darker months. As these light units can be quite expensive to buy, some companies offer a trial period so you can see if the therapy works for you before you commit.

For physical problems, caused by age, illness or an accident, physiotherapy may be offered. Physiotherapy helps maximise movement through therapeutic exercise, massage and electro-physical modalities. Nowadays physiotherapists use a range of advanced technology to aid their work, hydrotherapy is often used in this field.

Your local GP or healthcare specialist will be able to advise you of which therapy may be beneficial to you, you may only be able to see some specialists with a referral from your doctor.

World Wide Fund For Nature

Wherever there is a panda logo, the World Wide Fund For Nature wields its potent kind of environmentalism. As one of the world’s most successful charities, WWF is backed by donations and government funds.

One way WWF has raised money is by licensing its world-famous logo to companies whose operations and products merit admiration for environmental stewardship. For all its great ramifications however, this setup has raised eyebrows because it may taint the organization’s credibility and objectivity.

In defense, WWF has promised to reserve its right to criticize, if not, censure its corporate partners, which include Nokia and Coca-Cola. Besides, contributions from businesses, plus investment funds and sale of merchandise, only account for a paltry 12% of WWF’s income.

Much of the charity’s income is wrangled from private individuals who have attended WWF fundraisers or contacted by direct mail and such. Next, around 22% of the income has its provenance from government and aid agencies. Lastly, 19% of WWF income is sourced from the trusts and legacies of deceased persons.

After all is said and done, this planet needs all the help it could get, no matter if it risks tagging the WWF as a sellout. Global warming is a very urgent issue of this era and an entity as large as WWF should be at the forefront.

Its money would bankroll the organization’s one-of-a-kind ecological conservation projects anyway. Only up to 9% of the money is for administrative purposes.

WWF was established in 1961.

Why More and More People are Choosing to Work from Home

More and more people are making the decision to work from home. Computer technology and the world wide web has enabled people to change the way they work. It is much more time and cost effective to work from home, not to mention an improvement in lifestyle. Imagine, no commuting, working the hours that suit you and spending more quality time with your family.

In the current environment of no job security and massive retrenchments, the appeal of being your own boss and the ability to take control of your life and enjoy a family friendly lifestyle, not to mention the ability to work your own hours is a wonderful enticement to look for other opportunities outside the traditional 9 to 5 JOB (just over broke!). Anyone, from mothers, high flying executives, mechanics, secretaries etc – people from all walks of life are looking for a better way of life.

When looking to get into a new business opportunity you need to ask yourself – does it take full advantage of the fastest growth trends in business today? Are the products consumable i.e. are people going to be using them all the time? Who are the products aimed at i.e. who is your market? Will this market continue to grow? What training is provided and is there a comprehensive mentoring system available at all times? Can I start this business without risk of going bankrupt? Can I make money from day 1?

Narelle Eldridge used to work for Telstra. Today, she has her own e-commerce business and makes more money in 1 month than she used to make in 1 year.

Wanting to find a profitable business working from home so she could be around for her 2 teenage children, Narelle spent over $3000 researching her options. She knew she wanted to work her own hours from home doing something that gave her satisfaction as well as financial freedom.

After starting a business based on one of the options she researched, she realised quickly, it was never going to be something that she loved. So she was back to square one. Not one to give up easily, she then stumbled across an e-commerce business which she started part-time and now makes more money in 1 month than she used to earn in a whole year!

Narelle has a complete business ‘package’ that she teaches to others who also want to change their financial future and who are willing to work with her on developing their own successful home business. “The really great thing about my business now is not so much my own financial success and being able to live a dream life, it’s actually being able to help others to achieve their dreams. To work with people and see their lives changing for the better has to be the most amazing reward of all. I love what I do with a passion”. Narelle says.

Hangover Prevention: Scientifically Proven!

In reading a friend’s post about abstaining from alcohol, I realized that I best write something about prickly pear cactus juice. In fact, I should have done this a week ago.

Anyhow, if you are one who does not abstain from alcohol and do get hungover at times, you will be happy to know that a plant that grows in Arizona is a friend of yours.

Prickly Pear Cactus, Opuntia ficus indica

Yep. The juice from prickly pear cactus is scientifically proven to help prevent hangovers.
Compared to placebo:

  • prickly pear reduced the nausea, dry mouth and appetite loss of being hungover
  • prickly pear reduced the amount of c-reative protein by 40%
  • prickly pear reduced the risk of a severe hangover by 50%

Those are some very solid numbers.

The study concluded that the main benefit from prickly pear juice came from its ability to limit inflammation. When the body limits inflammation, health is likely present.

The inflammation caused by drinking is partly caused by the toxic effects on the liver’s mitochondria. These cells make energy for the liver and without them, the liver cells die.

The prickly pear juice does not stop the mitochondrial intoxication of liver cells but it does limit the amount of c-reactive protein [CRP] enzyme released by the liver. It is this reduction which reduces the effect of hangovers.

On your next drinking event, consider having Pricky Pear Cactus Juice on your shelf at home. It stays for a long time if frozen in little cubes.

How to Prevent a Hangover:

Before your night out, take a tablespoon of prickly pear cactus juice. That’s it. This does not excuse the crazy evenings, empty wallet or otherwise obnoxious events that may occur.

Be safe. Be smart. Be less hungover.
